A better method for Pittsfield elections

Rinaldo Del Gallo’s column on “Instant Runoff Voting,” and how it would preserve the will of the majority, allows everyone to meaningfully vote, and can (if desired) eliminate the cost of primaries. “If any given candidate gets a majority of the first choice votes (not a mere plurality), that candidate wins. But if no candidate has a majority, the candidate cannot win with a mere plurality and there is an ‘instant run-off election.’”
